Zhengzhou - A retired miners are digging their own home under the ground, to avoid a loan to buy a house in China is very high.
Chen Xinnian (64), did not spend the entire salary and savings to buy a bigger house.
So she used her professional expertise to make a tunnel into a house, under his own house is located in Zhengzhou, Henan Province.
Every day, he wore a helmet and lights, dig it to work for four to five hours in her spare time.
So far, the house includes one bedroom basement area of 50 square meters.
"I sometimes sing and dance with my wife in the basement. Very cool to be there. Both my kids always fighting to sleep there," he said as reported by Orange, on Friday (09/03/2010).
The basement apartment has a depth of six meters and can survive in the earthquake shocks, the air is so cool, so that food does not need to put in the refrigerator.
"Apartments in this neighborhood for Rp6, 9 million square meters. We were not able to pay it," he added.
Chen's wife, Liu Shula, actually opposed the project due to fearing for the safety of the underground. But eventually he changed his mind after finding out her husband's work without his knowledge.
"I view it very seriously, so I went to help and support it by contributing to dig. It's become our favorite locations as summer arrives," he said.
