Ibrahimovic Datang 2 Striker Milan Menyingkir

Kedatangan Zlatan Ibrahimovic ke AC Milan tampaknya akan membawa korban. Setelah striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar ingin hijrah, kini giliran Marco Borriello.

Borriello merasa akan susah mendapatkan posisi inti di Rossoneri akibat kehadiran mantan striker Barcelona dan Inter Milan itu. Ia kini sedang bicara dengan agennya untuk mempertimbangkan hijrah. Sebelumnya, striker Belanda, Klaas Jan Huntelaar juga menyatakan keinginan serupa.

"Zlatan pemain juara. Kedatangannya membuat posisi saya semakin susah," kata Borriello yang juga striker timnas Italia ini seperti dilansir Milannews.

"Saya akan mengevaluasi masa depan dan bicara dengan agen saya. Saya ingin terus bermain, karena saya masih berada di puncak permainan," lanjutnya.

Borriello menjadi starter kala Rossoneri menghancurkan Lecce 4-0 di giornata pembuka Serie A, dimana Ibrahimovic menonton dari tribun. Biasanya, striker 28 tahun ini ditandemkan dengan Alexandre Pato.
Borriello sempat dirumorkan akan dibarter dengan Ibra ke Barcelona, tapi kabar itu hilang dengan sendirinya.

Tak heran bila Manajer MU, Sir Alex Ferguson menyodorkan tawaran £10 juta ditambah gelandang Michael Carrick sebelum ditutupnya bursa transfer musim panas, 31 Agustus 2010.

Everton sesungguhnya berusaha keras untuk mempertahankan Rodwell yang masuk timnas Inggris U-21 ini. Hanya, tawaran dari MU sangat menggiurkan.

MU sesungguhnya ingin menunggu sampai musim depan sebelum membeli Rodwell. Namun, Ferguson khawatir harga Rodwell bakal meroket musim depan.

Internet Ancam Terbitan Kamus Inggris Oxford

Kemajuan dunia internet yang mencakup segala bidang semakin menggerus dunia percetakan ortodoks; dengan kertas dan tinta. Diantaranya yang terancam tidak akan dicetak lagi karena kalah pamor dengan versi online adalah Kamus Inggris Oxford (Oxford English Dictionary/OED). Selama puluhan tahun, kamus bahasa Inggris terbitan Oxford itu merupakan salah satu referensi yang paling dipercaya.

Saat ini, tim yang terdiri dari 80 orang ahli kamus (lexicographer) sedang mempersiapkan edisi ketiga OED, yang sepertiganya telah selesai. Penerbitnya, Oxford University Press (OUP), belum memberikan tanggal pasti kapan kamus ini siap edar. Namun melihat penjualan edisi cetak yang anjlok karena kalah dengan versi online, edisi OED ketiga ini sepertinya hanya akan diterbitkan dengan format digital.

“Saat ini kami menerima banyaknya permintaan untuk versi online. Namun, versi cetak akan kami pertimbangkan jika terdapat permintaan yang cukup pada saat publikasi,” ujar pernyataan OUP.

Hal ini dibenarkan oleh Kepala eksekutif OUP, Nigel Portwood. Dia mengatakan pada sebuah wawancara dengan Sunday Times bahwa edisi terbaru mungkin tidak akan dicetak. “Pasar untuk kamus cetak sudah menghilang. Pasarnya turun puluhan persen dalam satu tahun,” ujar Portwood.

Versi online OED, yang sudah ada sejak tahun 2000, telah di-klik dua juta kali dalam sebulan oleh para pelanggan yang membayar US$ 296 per tahun. Sebagai perbandingan, edisi cetak saat ini, yang diterbitkan tahun 1989, terdiri dari 20 volume seharga US$ 1.165, hanya terjual sekitar 30.000 set.

Editor melakukan pembaruan (update) setiap tiga bulan. Contohnya, pada Maret lalu mereka menambahkan kata “techy”dan “superbug”untuk versi online. Hal ini tentunya tidak bisa dilakukan pada versi cetak yang memerlukan waktu yang lebih lama untuk melakukan pembaharuan.

Hal ini merupakan salah satu tanda kemudahan dan kecepatan internet, serta kemudahannya di-update, sedang menggerogoti fungsi dari buku cetak. Google dan Wikipedia lebih populer sebagai sumber informasi daripada Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Puluhan kamus online yang tersedia dapat mengartikan kata dalam sekali klik, semudah membalikkan telapak tangan. Bahkan aplikasi ini tersedia juga pada perangkat telepon genggam.

Namun terlalu cepat untuk mengatakan bahwa kamus digital akan menghapuskan kamus cetak. Portwood mengatakan bahwa sekolah-sekolah masih mengandalkan kamus cetak. Selain itu, permintaan kamus yang laris dijual, the Advanced Learner's Dictionary, masih tinggi bagi warga non-native yang belajar bahasa Inggris.

OED pertama kali diterbitkan berjilid mulai tahun 1884.Terbitannya terus berkembang selama beberapa dekade, sampai versi lengkapnya terbit pada tahun 1928. Terbitan ini adalah kamus Inggris terlengkap sejak kamus Samuel Johnson's “A Dictionary of the English Language” diterbitkan pada tahun 1755.

Sejak saat itu, OED terus berkembang. Versi kedua yang ada saat ini memiliki 291.500 kata, ditambah dengan 2,4 juta kutipan sebagai sumbernya.  (Associated Press)• VIVAnews

Terlempar dari 2 Besar, Lorenzo Frustrasi

Terusir dari posisi 2 besar untuk kali pertama musim ini di MotoGP AS di Indianapolis, Senin dinihari WIB 30 Agustus 2010, membuat Jorge Lorenzo frustrasi. Rider FIAT Yamaha itu hanya bisa menyalahkan dirinya sendiri.

Lorenzo menambah deretan pembalap yang mengkritik kondisi Sirkuit Indianapolis setelah Valentino Rossi dan Casey Stoner. Rider asal Spanyol ini harus bekerja keras untuk meraih posisi 3 di Indianapolis.

Lorenzo memulai balapan dari posisi 2 di belakang Ben Spies dan sempat turun ke posisi 5 sebelum akhirnya meraih podium di posisi 3. Meski puas dengan tambahan 16 poin yang berharga, pembalap 23 tahun ini mengaku kecewa dengan jalannya balapan.

"Jelas saya tidak boleh kecewa dengan posisi ketiga. Tapi, di saat yang bersamaan saya tidak senang dengan balapan hari ini. Saya tidak membalap sebagus sebelumnya dan tidak mendapat start yang bagus," ujar Lorenzo seperti dilansir situs resmi MotoGP.

"Kondisi trek sangat sulit dan saya tidak punya kekuatan untuk menekan seperti yang saya lakukan saat latihan. Ini seperti balapan di Malaysia, treknya sangat licin dan sangat sulit menggunakan ban seperti yang Anda inginkan. Sejujurnya, saya beruntung bisa meraih posisi ketiga," lanjut Lorenzo.

"Hal positifnya kami meraih sejumlah poin dan sekarang saya harus konsentrasi dan memulihkan diri sebelum balapan di Misano. Karena kami tidak punya banyak waktu," tutup Lorenzo. • VIVAnews

Obama Tidak Peduli Disebut Muslim

Presiden Barack Obama tidak ambil pusing dengan sejumlah survei, yang mengungkapkan makin banyak warga di AS percaya dia adalah Muslim. Dia pun tidak mau larut dalam pergunjingan publik, yang mempersoalkan apakah Obama asli Amerika atau tidak.

"Saya tidak akan begitu khawatir mengenai rumor apapun yang sedang muncul," kata Obama dalam wawancara dengan stasiun televisi NBC, yang ditayangkan Minggu, 29 Agustus 2009 waktu setempat. "Kalau saya menghabiskan waktu mempersoalkan [rumor] itu, maka saya tidak akan bisa kerja," lanjut Obama.

Ketika itu, Obama ditanya NBC komentarnya mengenai hasil survei yang dipublikasikan awal Agustus ini. Menurut survei dari Pew Research Center dan Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, jumlah responden yang menilai Obama adalah muslim kini sebanyak 18 persen dari total partisipan. Jumlah itu meningkat tujuh persen dari hasil survei Maret 2009.

Pada survei yang sama, jumlah respoden yang yakin bahwa Obama adalah umat Kristen kini hanya 34 persen, padahal tahun lalu sebesar 48 persen. Menariknya lagi, sebanyak 43 persen responden saat ini mengaku tidak tahu agama apa yang dianut Obama.

Survei Majalah Time/ABT SRBI, yang berlangsung 16-17 Agustus lalu, mengungkapkan bahwa 47 persen responden menganggap Obama adalah Nasrani, sedangkan 24 persen percaya dia Muslim, sedangkan 24 persen mengaku tidak tahu atau tidak memberi jawaban.

Menurut kalangan media massa di AS, pandangan respoden atas keyakinan Obama itu terkait dengan dukungannya atas pembangunan suatu masjid di kawasan Manhattan, New York. Saat mengadakan acara buka puasa di Gedung Putih, Jumat 13 Agustus 2010, Obama menyatakan bahwa Islam merupakan bagian dari Amerika dan umat Muslim berhak mendirikan tempat ibadah di manapun, termasuk di Manhattan.

Beberapa hari lalu, juru bicara Gedung Putih "meluruskan" hasil survei dengan menegaskan bahwa Obama adalah seorang Nasrani. "Presiden jelasnya adalah seorang Nasrani. Dia berdoa setiap hari," kata juru bicara Gedung Putih, Bill Burton, Kamis 19 Agustus 2010.

Obama pun tidak peduli dengan pergunjingan bahwa dia bukan orang Amerika karena tidak lahir di Negeri Paman Sam. Kalangan konservatif mempertanyakan keaslian akta lahir Obama, yang menyebut bahwa dia lahir di Honolulu, Hawaii. Menikah 42 Kali dalam Setahun

Pasangan Denise dan Mark Duffield-Thomas telah melangsungkan pernikahan mereka tahun lalu. Kurang dari setahun kemudian, mereka telah mengulangi ikrar pernikahan mereka selama 42 kali. Mereka ingin memecahkan rekor dunia dengan mengucapkan janji pernikahan sebanyak 84 kali.

Dalam salah satu adegan ikrar sehidup-semati, pasangan ini mengenakan jubah Arab di tengah gurun Yordania yang gelap gulita. Bukan keluarga yang ada di sekeliling mereka, melainkan sekelompok wisatawan backpacker dengan kuda-kuda mereka.

Denise dan Mark ingin membuktikan diri sebagai pasangan yang memperbarui sumpah pernikahan melebihi rekor dunia sebelumnya, sebanyak 83 kali. Dan, keduanya telah memperoleh setengahnya.

Setelah menjalin hubungan hingga tujuh tahun, Denise dan Mark memutuskan menikah Agustus 2009 di rumah manor Elizabeth di Reading, Berkshire. Hadiah pernikahan dari keluarga, di antaranya panjat jembatan di Australia, makan malam romantis di Singapura, Indonesia dan Australia.

Dikutip dari Mirror.co.uk, ide ini muncul saat keduanya memenangkan kompetisi bulan madu bertajuk 'Ultimate Job in The World'.

Pada Mei 2010, pasangan pengantin ini mengalahkan 30 ribu pengantin dari seluruh dunia  melalui video pernikahan berdurasi 80 detik. Hadiahnya, mereka berbulan madu berkeliling dunia selama enam bulan.

Dari situ, mereka ketagihan untuk terus memperbarui ikrar pernikahan sekaligus bulan madu mereka. Dalam tiga bulan, keduanya berkunjung ke delapan negara dengan tujuan ekstrem, memperoleh rekor dunia!

Salah satu pengalaman unik 'pernikahan' mereka terjadi di Kenya, dengan safari seminggu mencari singa dan menikah dengan adat suku Masai. Mereka juga menikah lima kali di New York, dua kali di Central park, sekali di Empire State Building, satu kali di hotel mewah Waldorf Astoria berbiaya US$4.000-10.000 per malam dan di jok belakang taksi kuning.

Parsel Isi Bom Meledak di Apartemen

Sebuah bom rakitan meledak di depan sebuah unit apartemen di desa Tun Razak, Cheras, Malaysia pada Minggu, 29 Agustus 2010. Ledakan ini menewaskan seorang wanita dan menyebabkan seorang pria kritis, juga menimbulkan kerusakan kecil terhadap lima unit bangunan.

Ng Siew Hong, 51 tahun menderita luka bakar 90 persen setelah membuka paket parsel berisi bahan peledak. Ng Siew Hong kemudian dilarikan ke Rumah Sakit Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Ng Siew Hong kemudian tewas setelah ditransfer ke Rumah Sakit Kuala Lumpur.

Kepolisian Malaysia menyebutkan ledakan tidak terkait dengan aksi terorisme. Inspektur Jenderal Polisi Tan Sri Musa Hassan menduga ledakan terkait masalah keuangan.

"Berdasarkan penyelidikan kami, insiden itu kemungkinan besar terkait dengan masalah keuangan. Kami akan terus menyelidiki masalah secara menyeluruh," kata dia kepada The Star.

Ketua Kepolisia Lokal (OCPD) Abd Rahim Hamzah Othman mengatakan, pemilik apartemen di lantai 12 mendengar ketukan di pintunya sekitar pukul 08.30 WIB. Dia menemukan kotak dengan hiasan yang tergeletak di depan pintu apartemennya.

Lim, pemilik apartemen, kemudian mencium bau minyak tanah dari dalam kotak. Kemudian Lim meminta tetangganya untuk mengecek kotak tersebut.

Dia akhirnya meminta dua pekerjanya Ng dan Goh Yong Seng untuk memeriksa kotak. Ketika dibuka, kotak itu kemudian meledak,

Ng tewas, sedangkan Goh kini menderita luka bakar yang serius dan dalam kondisi kritis. Goh saat ini dirawat di Rumah Sakit Kuala Lumpur yang memiliki unit pengobatan luka bakar yang lebih baik.

Abd Rahim menjelaskan polisi tidak mengesampingkan motif bisnis sebagai penyebab di balik bom tersebut. Walau demikian, pemilik apartemen yang memiliki kafe internet dan restoran menyangkal pernah menerima ancaman apapun.• VIVAnews

Jamban yang pernah dipakai musisi legendaris John Lennon, dilelang. Salah satu peserta lelang, rela merogok koceknya £9,500 atau sekitar Rp133 juta, untuk memiliki toilet milik pentolan The Beatles ini.

Harga ini hampir mencapai 10 kali lipat dari harga penawaran lelang, seperti dilansir dari laman The Telegraph. Semula, kloset yang terbuat dari porselen ini dibandrol £1,000 pada acara Konvensi ke-33 The Beatles di Liverpool.

Salah satu panitia lelang, Stephen Bailey menilai penjualan ini sebagai,"Tak dapat dipercaya." Panitia menerima tawaran dari berbagai daerah, tapi jamban ini malah dimenangkan pembeli rahasia dari luar negeri.

Toilet ini digunakan Lennon selama tiga tahun saat dia tinggal di Tittenhurst Park, Berkshire sejak tahun 1969.

Jakarta – Dedemit maya yang mengaku dari Indonesia kembali meluncurkan serangan pada situs internet milik warga Malaysia. Kali ini sasarannya adalah situs yang dikelola oleh perguruan tinggi yang cukup terkenal di negera tetangga kita ini, yakni Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM).

Situs resmi UUM yang beralamat di uum.edu.my, nampak dipermak habis oleh sang cracker. Pengamatan detikINET, halaman situs menampilkan gambar tengkorak muncul di tengah-tengah bendera Malaysia. Selain itu juga ada rekaman foto aksi pembakaran bendera Malaysia.

Sepertinya aksi ini dipicu oleh kekesalan para cracker yang menilai Malaysia terus berulah merongrong kedaulatan negara Indonesia. Hal ini tampak pada pesan yang ditampilkan di situs tersebut:

“Rakyat Indonesia cinta damai, tapi kalau terus-terusan diusik dan dilecehkan kami juga bisa marah, sabar ada batasnya. Pulau Sipadan dan Ligitan sudah diambil, sekarang mau mencaplok blok Ambalat, Saudara Kami yang ada di sana Dengan Kejinya Kalian Siksa tanpa Rasa kemanusiaan..!! Ini adalah peringatan dari kami, Jika kalian terus mengusik kami, maka akan kami lanjutkan perjuangan ini dengan cara kami sendiri..!,”

Tidak jelas siapa sebenarnya yang berada di balik aksi serangan cyber ini. Pelaku hanya memakai identitas bernama the_g3mb3L pada halaman situs yang telah diserang. Namun ada baiknya, kita semua tetap berkepala dingin agar tidak terpancing provokasi yang bisa merugikan banyak pihak.

Gunung Sinabung AWAS, Ini Peringatan ke Warga

Setelah 'tidur panjang' lebih dari 400 tahun Gunung Sinabung di Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara meletus pada Minggu dini hari pukul 00.08 WIB, 29 Agustus 2010.

Status Gunung Sinabung naik menjadi 'AWAS' -- level tertinggi.

"Karena Gunung Sinabung dalam status AWAS maka akan dilaporkan perkembangan aktivitasnya setiap 6 jam," demikian informasi dari laman Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG).

Hingga saat ini terkait Gunung Sinabung, tidak diketahui aktivitas dan sifat letusannya.

Sejumlah rekomendasi disampaikan pada warga masyarakat di sekitar Gunung Sinabung, yakni:
- Masyarakat yang bermukim dan beraktivitas dalam radius 6 kilometer dari kawah aktif agar diungsikan ke tempat yang aman.

-  Jika terjadi hujan abu cukup deras, agar masyarakat menggunakan masker penutup hidung dan mulut serta menutup sumber air untuk keperluan minum.

-  Mengingat Gunung Sinabung tidak diketahui aktivitas dan sifat letusannya, maka masyarakat agar bersabar mengikuti arahan Pemerintah Daerah (BPBD/Satlak/Satkorlak) dan Pemerintah Daerah agar senantiasa berkoordinasi dengan Tim ahli di lapangan.

-  Mengingat saat ini di wilayah sekitar Gunung Sinabung sering turun hujan, agar masyarakat yang bermukim di bantaran sungai yang berhulu di puncak G. Sinabung agar mewaspadai kemungkinan terjadinya bahaya sekunder berupa banjir lahar. (hs)
