Israeli Foreign Minister: delay construction ending soon

JERUSALEM - Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said the party leadership tried to mengalangi efforts to extend a moratorium on the construction of Jewish settlements in East Jerusalem.
Lieberman also known hardline Jewish leaders claimed the Government of Israel must hold the promise of a moratorium on this for 10 months. This means that the development moratorium will expire on 26 September.
He added that a moratorium was previously only approved for Palestinians are willing to return to the negotiating table. In 2008, the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks failed miserably.
"The promise remains a promise. We will not agree to extend the moratorium. If there was a proposal that is not acceptable in our hearts, then the proposal is certain it will be rejected," said Lieberman as quoted by the Associated Press, Monday (06/09/2010).
Obviously this condition is contrary to what was stated the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. At the opening of peace talks in Washington, United States, last week, Netanyahu supports the peace efforts.
But Lieberman felt pessimistic about the outcome of negotiations. According to him, the target of peace to be achieved in one year is extremely unlikely.
